Rascal Flats Labs

  • The breeder guarantees this dog is a purebred, potentially breed able, Labrador Retriever registered with the Canadian Kennel Club.
  • The dog will have had a veterinary check; it’s first vaccination and be de wormed.
  • The health of the dog is excellent to the best of my knowledge. We are not guaranteeing that nothing will ever go wrong, but we have done the best we can in preparing your pup for a life of good health. The buyer has 4 days in which to take the puppy to his/her veterinarian and have it examined for any health problems, at the buyers’ expense.  If a problem is found, a phone call immediately to the seller to advise of the problem and a written letter from your Veterinarian stating the health problem should be forwarded to me. If the problem can not be resolved, the buyer may return the dog; with all the papers to the seller and select another puppy based on availability at the time, or be placed on a next litter list. Under this LIMITED HEALTH GUARANTEE your puppy is guaranteed against congenital health defects for a period of one year from the purchase date. If your puppy has a non-curable congenital defect, you must obtain a written diagnosis from a veterinarian. Upon submitting this diagnosis, Rascal Flats Labs will refund you the purchase price of the puppy. If your puppy has a curable congenital health defect, you will be directed to take your puppy for treatment. Rascal Flats Labs will pay up to the purchase price of the puppy for treatment(s).
  • Your puppy is guaranteed to be free or normal of inherited Progressive Retinal Atrophy and Retinal Dyslasia, also to have genetically functional hip joints until 26 months of age.  If you suspect a problem, you must submit x-rays to the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) for hip evaluation, and CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation) for eye evaluation, this must be done by a certified ophthalmologist and must be done by 26 months of age. It is best not to have a bitch done when she is in cycle. If the dog is found to be genetically inherited dysplastic so extreme that it prevents it from being a functional family companion and must be euthanatized, a replacement puppy will be given, or requires surgery, reimbursement would be for half the purchase price of the puppy. OFA and CERF exams are the buyers’ responsibility. If surgery is chosen, proof of neutering or spaying must be provided. A written notice from yourself and the OFA, or CERF (we do not except evaluations from any other veterinarian) must be provided. This guarantee is only good for the original owner and must be submitted to the seller with all required documents of proof before the dog reaches 28 months old.  The guarantee is void if the dog has been used for breeding purposes before 26 months of age and the OFA and CERF certification are done. This guarantee is also void if anything that affects the development of the puppy, such as abuse, neglect, trauma, lack of or over exercising during their growth and development period, poor nutrition, obesity, or accidental injury preventing certification. You must have regular vet checks and all required shots, plus accurate records of all of the above. All supporting documents must accompany any claims. I reserve the right to have the dog checked out by an independent veterinarian. Since your dog is an important member of your family, we do not request that your dog be returned, however you must guarantee the dog will not be sold at anytime.
  • Buyer agrees if for whatever reason they must dispose of dog they will notify me first with the option to purchase, or supply me with the name, address and phone numbers of the new owner.
  • This contract is non-transferable, and all guarantees stated or implied are only valid if the dog is still owned by the original buyer.
